What should I use them all to make a bow and arrow at home?
and need to know how to make the bow I have now also What string type to use and how do I have to know how to do what arrows to use all these things I need to how
There are many types of wood that are good for the service of bow hunting, ashes will be one of these forests, and is not always the best option. Walnut, oak, elm, maple, mountain ash, vine maple, Yew, etc, etc, etc, and really more of a wooden arched steam only … There are many different types of fibers that can be used to make a good series – as hemp willow bark, nettles – and the chains are much stronger than most people think. "A" may have built many bows, but the pre-stretch tendon, then "shaving" the required thickness (diameter) is a sure way to ensure that you are injured. If so "a" was made strip of tendon, then "a" knows very little to make bowstrings. Bois d'Arc (shit "disorder" of the name is "arc dark "- not" bodock ") is a very good wood – and also happens to be one of the most difficult work. Save for when you've made a few arc what you do. Oh, and the most common name of this wood is "hedge apple", not "horse apple" because the trees to be planted in hedgerows, horses do not eat the fruit of the Bois d'Arc, at least, not healthy horses. ("Wood of Arc" – literally "Bow Bow") For more information and instructions for making bows, arrows, strings, etc, visit forums and web sites: http http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php http://paleoplanet69529.yuku.com/ http://www.bowyers-den.com/ http://tradgang. com /: / / Primway.net / http://leatherwall.bowsite.com/TF/lw/THREADSx2.CFM And there are books available, you can reference the full hearing / information where needed (such as working in an arc and you get "stuck" … or simply to learn the procedures, while now the team): http://boisdarcpress.com/ – Recommendations for the traditional series of Bowyer Bible (4 volumes, written by experts and policy makers of bows arrow) http://horsefeathersranch.com/ There are many links, many more – all you have to do is look for them. Good luck, and keep your strings sec. ps "ChrisySue" is simply rude. Pay no mind.

At Home With the Braithwaites [2 Pack] - $34.99 Includes:At Home with the Braithwaites [TV Series] (2000) At Home with the Braithwaites [TV Series] First telecast over the BBC on January 20, 2000, the weekly, 60-minute dramedy At Home with the Braithwaites zeroed in on a fractious family. Upon winning the national lottery, novice millionaire Alison Braithwaite (Amanda Redman) realized that the money would be ill used by her husband, David (Peter Davison), a mean-spirited loan shark and philanderer; by her lesbian college-student daughter, Virginia (Sarah Smart); and by her other daughters, the whiny Sarah (Sarah Churm) and the bizarre Charlotte (Keely Fawcett), who bought the lottery ticket in the first place. Thus, Alison keeps her newfound wealth a secret from her family, preferring instead to invest the money in “good works.” The complications that resulted from this decision were plentiful enough to stretch the series’ premise across three seasons. It was during season three that At Home with the Braithwaites made its U.S. bow by way of the BBC America satellite service on September 5, 2003. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi |

Take A Bow $16.99 Greg Laswell.Personnel: Brian Wright (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, synthesizer); Brandon Walters (acoustic guitar, electric guitar); Greg Collins (electric guitar, 12-string guitar, electric piano, Hammond b-3 organ, glockenspiel); Daniel Rhine (upright bass, electric bass); Jerry Roe (drums).Audio Mixer: Greg Collins .Recording information: Tracy Bremmeyer’s Cabin, Montainaire.Photographer: Brian Henry. To call Greg Laswell a singer/songwriter is to risk misinterpretation by those who use the term generically. Laswell’s no laid-back folk-rocker plunking the same three chords over and over on a battered acoustic guitar. If anything, the EP that preceded Take a Bow can offer a hint as to where he’s coming from stylistically — it contains his versions of songs by Echo & the Bunnymen, Kate Bush, and Kristin Hersh, among others, so if you’re thinking Laswell’s a man who likes his atmosphere thick and isn’t afraid of adjectives like “arty,” you’re on the right track in approaching this, his third full-length. The last time around, Laswell was mourning a broken heart, and either he still hasn’t quite gotten over it, or he’s gotten the damn thing busted up all over again, because there’s no shortage of emotional wreckage floating across Take a Bow. Fortunately for all concerned, Laswell does disconsolation very well, using it as fuel for tunes as full of evocative melodies and imaginative arrangements as lovelorn vibes. At times, he keeps things quiet and low-key, crooning over a soft bed of keyboards and guitars with only the lyrics betraying any real psychological turmoil. But the tracks where he lets it all hang out sonically as well as verbally are perhaps the album’s most interesting moments. “Come Clean,” for example, shifts between a soulful moan with simple electric piano accompaniment, and a savage, pounding, rifftastic section that could have fallen off of some alt metal album. “Around the Bend,” the album’s arguable peak, starts off with the pedal to the metal, kicking into a huge, orchestral rock progression that wouldn’t alienate Godspeed You Black Emperor! fans, before moving into smooth, subtle, Brit-pop-esque passages that eventually lead back towards the abyss. This song’s lyrics reveal more than a little about Laswell’s modus operandi, too. “Play the song without the hook in the third line,” he sings, “so I can forget it easily, like I wish I could forget you.” You just know that the poor guy knows damn well neither of those things is going to happen. ~ J. Allen |

Home - $19.99 Sir John Gielgud and Sir Ralph Richardson star in this made-for-TV adaptation of David Storey’s award-winning comedy-drama as two genial but eccentric men who may or may not be inmates in a mental institution. Storey’s text also serves as a pointed metaphor for the slow decline of British culture and society. Home was directed by Storey’s frequent collaborator, Lindsay Anderson. Former Animals keyboardist Alan Price, who worked with Anderson on the film O Lucky Man!, composed the music. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

The Bow – Widescreen Subtitle $19.99 A crusty old man and his teenage bride-to-be find their secluded life at sea turned upside down with the arrival of a mysterious teenage boy in The Isle director Kim Ki-duk’s quiet and contemplative drama. They’ve been together for ten years, and as the girl’s seventeenth birthday draws near so does the union of this unlikely May-December couple. Aside from his young companion, the thing in life that the old man holds dearest to his heart is his bow. Not only is the bow an effective means of warding off would-be suitors who would seek to spirit away his young shipmate, but a shamanistic fortune-telling device and a musical instrument capable of producing enchanting melodies as well. After drifting on the ocean waves together for an entire decade, this couple suddenly finds the waters becoming treacherous not by the wrath of mother nature, but the introduction of a teenage boy whose presence quickly upsets the pending wedding plans. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi |

The Bow Street Runners [LP] $22.98 Using the trippy, folky rock of Jefferson Airplane and eerie, organ-driven soundscapes as a foundation, the Bow Street Runners may not have many original ideas in their head, but that’s part of their appeal. Their lone, eponymous album is filled with attempts at hippie mysticism and menacing, swirling fuzzy psychedelia, yet the group has neither the inclination or the talent to turn it into something original. Nevertheless, the group is somewhat distinctive in the ways its attempts fail — “Spunky Monkey” is an aimless and slightly ridiculous blues jam, “Eating from a Plastic Hand” has a silly, ominous minor-key melody and, best of all, “Watch” sounds like Ringo Starr fronting the Doors. It doesn’t make for good or provocative music, but as a late-’60s artifact, it’s fascinating. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine |

Includes liner notes by Joanie Madden. It’s pretty rare that any good comes of signing a traditional Celtic band to a major record label. In this case, the results have been mixed but generally good. The second Cherish the Ladies album on RCA has family participation as its theme, and for the most part it works out quite well: guests include the Clancy Brothers (father and uncle of Cherish the Ladies singer Aiofe Clancy), accordion player Jim Coogan (father of guitarist and banjo player Mary Coogan), and flutist Seamus Egan (brother of fiddler Siobhan Egan). There are several very fine reel and jig sets and a lovely rendition of the traditional song “Matt Hyland,” sung beautifully by Aiofe Clancy. And there’s also a nice performance of “John of Dreams,” sung here by various members of the Clancy family. But the inclusion of Dan Fogelberg’s “The Leader of the Band” sounds like a label executive’s idea, and there’s a tameness to the overall sound that is a bit disappointing. Still, this album will probably appeal to all but the snobbiest Celtic music fans. ~ Rick Anderson |

Wills.Photographer: Michael Miller .Gangsta Rap, from some gentlemen who know a thing or two about the style.Ice Cube, W.C. and Mack 10 are the core of this outfit, and the tracks cover the usual subjects: urban violence, drug dealing, and general anti-establishment behavior. The sound is west coast all the way, with flowing, quick-tempo raps over sparse, repetitive beats. Few surprises here musically; “Bow Down” is typical of the lot, as the crew demands respect from those who would dare to challenge their supreme authority as rappers, gangsters, and Mack Daddies. There’s also some coastal rivalry here: in “All the Critics in New York” Cube voices his displeasure with the rappers he used to respect, but who now criticize and, even worse, imitate him. This is raw, straight-up urban music, not for young children or the faint of heart. |

The Ox-Bow Incident - $12.99 This now-classic indictment of mob rule was a pet project of both star Henry Fonda and director William Wellman, both of whom agreed to work on lesser 20th Century-Fox projects in exchange for this film. After a hard winter on the range, cowboys Gil Carter (Fonda) and Art Croft (Harry Morgan) ride into a fleabitten small town for a drink. Within minutes, they get mixed up in a barroom brawl, which earns them the animosity of the locals. By and by, word reaches town that a local rancher has been killed by rustlers. With the sheriff out of town, a lynch mob is formed under the leadership of Major Tetley (Frank Conroy), a former Confederate officer who hopes to recapture past glories. Worried that they’ll be strung up, Carter and Croft reluctantly join the mob and head out of town. In the dark of night, the group comes across three sleeping transients: a farmer named Martin (Dana Andrews), a Mexican (Anthony Quinn), and a senile old man (Francis Ford). The fact that Martin carries no bill of sale written by the so-called murder victim is evidence enough for Tetley to demand that the three men be hanged on the spot. Carter knows that this is a gross miscarriage of justice, but he’s helpless to intervene. Resolving himself to his fate, Martin gives Carter a letter to deliver to his wife. The three unfortunates die at the end of the rope, and the mob rides off, only to discover that there never was a murder of any kind. Based on a novel by Walter Van Tilburg Clark, The Ox-Bow Incident is not so much a western as a gothic melodrama, with deep, looming shadows and atmospheric underlighting worthy of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Though the film lost a fortune at the box office (a fact that Fox head Darryl F. Zanuck never tired of pointing out to Fonda and Wellman), it gains in stature with each passing year. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi |
